Got Room? How About A Custom Mural?! by Cynthie Fisher | I'm happy to offer this new service to my clients and future customers! What follows are examples of
a recent mural project in Minnesota for a collector. This room is 1900 sq. ft, with 25 foot high ceilings, and many fine full-bodied mounts. All it needed was some pizazz on the walls to set off the display. | | | the trophy room from outside | | | | the first main wall before... | I use latex house paint in custom colors I designed, and every type of brush, as well as an airgun and compressor for certain effects. | | | the soon to be rainforest wall, before... | Here I am working on some red river hogs...that's one of my advantages as a mural painter: I can add ANY animal to any scene depicted! Birds, reptiles, you name it. My client's trophy had been damaged, so I painted one for him instead! | | | adding some forest buffalo | Another unique application; in certain instances, I will paint the body of the animal behind the shoulder mount, to add interest and create a realistic impression. Here is the completed kudu display...and there's a leopard up on the rocks watching! | | | adding a few lechwe to the swamp scene | Another example of painting "beyond" the mount...a hippo this time. The finished hippo...a tad of a challenge! On to the last BIG wall, a depiction of Tanzania and Mt. Kilimanjaro... | | | ...and a few days later, the results! | | | | I added these elephants, zebras, giraffes and wildebeest to this scene | | | | the Tanzania wall as it used to be... | | | | some floor lighting to show off the savannah | | | | I added the rest of the branches and leaves to this leopard mount | | | | and finally, a wall of African birds! | | | | the initial lay-in sets the mood | Another challenge, a medieval stone castle in the Scottish Highlands! I'm painting this on a
canvas tacked to a wall. adding the finishing touches to the castle stones All done! This will be used as a backdrop for period photos of various Scottish clans at a
festival. So, if this possibility intrigues any trophy collectors or art enthusiasts out there, feel
